AUTOMATIC ORGANIC WASTE COMPOSTER

Composting is a controlled process that decomposes organic material using microorganisms found naturally in organic materials and soil. In order for decomposition to proceed at a faster rate, these bacteria require basic nutrition, oxygen, and water. Compost is a dark brown, humus-like material that can be handled, stored, and used as a useful soil conditioner with ease and safety. The population of microorganisms, carbon to nitrogen ratio, oxygen level, temperature, moisture, surface area, pH, and time all play a role in the composting process.

Auto Composter uses “In vessel composting Technology”. It provides favorable conditions of food, water, temperature and mixing for these composting cultures. These micro-organisms thrive in these favorable conditions.

WORKING

It is simple and practical because the most unpleasant fraction of the waste stream - the food waste, is being dealt with hygienically on a daily basis. Deposit organic waste at inlet of the machine along with 20% of carbonaceous material (Saw dust) and 0.1% composting culture. The chopper at the inlet chops the material to increase the surface area & make the waste homogenous and will be delivered into the reactor drum.

Heat generated in this process is preserved by providing insulation. The increased temperature kills pathogens and also accelerates the composting process.

The average process time inside the machine is 8-10 days. The aeration and turning is done automatically which means that the natural decomposition process works perfectly from start to finish. The finished compost is automatically sent out to the collection bag provided at the rear of the machine. When the compost bag is full, remove it and replace it with another bag. The composting process takes place in an in-vessel composting unit so there are no unpleasant odours on-site.

The cylinder is usually rotated 1 minute every hour only. The biological process generates a temperature of 55-65 oC and this is why the energy consumption is low even if the machine is installed outdoors.

WHY US

OTHER COMPOSTER PRATHAM COMPOSTER
Batch Process Continuous Process
Need reloading of raw compost Reloading of raw compost is not required
Separate Space for Curing. Raw Compost left open leading to emissions & odors No Separate Space for Curing. All processes are completed in the machine. It is fully closed
High Electrical Consumption Electricity requirement much lower
Too much handling of Food Waste and Raw Compost Negligible Handling is required
High Skills required for odour control High Temperature reactions kill odor and pathogens. As additional precaution, exhaust gases pass through activated carbon filter
High Maintenance cost Negligible Maintenance cost
Cost of Operation: High Cost of Operation: Low
